School Burns Competition 2009
We had a total of 6 schools taking part, with 35 pupils, singing, reciting and one playing the clarinet, also one choir participating. The audience was around 180. Our judges were Audrey McKirdey and John Mitchell they had a very difficult task in finding the winners.

Following on to our local Burns Competiion the winners participated in the Lanarkshire finals on the 24th of March 2009 when East Kilbride gained a first and two third prizes. The overall prize for the best performance of the evening event went to Andrew Gracie , Recitation from South Park PS and who came first in his class and now goes forward to the national Finals in Dunns.

East Kilbride Rotary Club were presented with a momento from the Lanarkshire Burns Association for the support that they had given to the event over the past 10 years
